Pur attingendo alla ricca tradizione mantovana e veronese si è impreziosita con piatti tipicamente locali come per esempio gli STRANGOLINI (gnocchi di pane grattugiato, formaggio grana e uova conditi con burro fuso o salsa di pomodoro), le lasagne fatte in casa con ragù di selvaggina e il FOGASIN. Da non dimenticare il salame locale, che per impasto e concia, si differenzia dai cugini mantovani e veronesi.
Ci sono trattorie, ristoranti e Agriturismi nel centro storico e nella campagna circostante, che nulla hanno da invidiare per qualità e prezzo a molti ambienti “IN”.
Tre sono i vini doc dei Colli Morenici: il bianco, il chiaretto e il rubino, poi c’è il Custoza doc e un tocai da tavola, uno Chardonnay con denominazione Garda, il merlot, il Cabernet, il Pinot grigio.
LA CANTINA SOCIALE DI Ponti Sul Mincio vinifica ca. il 50% della produzione vinicola della nostra zona. Ci sono però anche delle piccole cantine che fanno un ottimo lavoro, ed il vino da loro prodotto è di notevole qualità.
PONTI’S FOOD AND WINES
Getting a hint from Mantua and Verona’s food, Ponti has been enriching its kitchen with local dishes such as STRANGOLINI (gnocchi made with grated bread, grana cheese and eggs dressed with butter or tomato sauce), homemade lasagna with ragout. Last but not less important, the local salami that is different from the salami from Mantua and Verona thanks to its dough and curing. There are taverns, restaurants and farmhouses in the historical center and in the surrounding countryside that have no need to envy the most popular places thanks to their quality and prices.
There are 3 types of wines which are Registered Designation of Origin: white, claret and ruby, Custoza and a table tokay wine, a Chardonnay with denomination Garda, merlot, Cabernet and Pinot Grigio. The Cantina Sociale (winery) of Ponti sul Mincio controls more or less the 50% of the wineproduction of our area. The winery is open every morning from Monday to Sunday from 8am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 6.30pm. There are also small wineries that do a great job and their wine is of remarkable quality.
